![]() December 10, 2007 – The stage is set. The curtain goes up tonight at 6 in the Westin Riverwalk’s Navarro Room, where Andres Duany and his DPZ design team present plans for key parcels along the Windcrest/Northeast San Antonio I-35 corridor. ![]() Gary Cain and his partners in the Urban Real Estate Group hired Duany’s firm to focus on plans for mixed-use, walkable development on the Group’s 300 acres south of the former Windsor Park Mall. The two parcels fall under the jurisdiction of both San Antonio and Windcrest, so cooperation between the two cities has been crucial to make this effort a reality. “Now we have to take that cooperation to another level,” said Cain, after getting previews on Sunday of final stages of the DPZ plans and renderings. “We really want to build out this dream. But it will take the same spirit going forward that we saw all week in the charrette.” (For more of Cain’s overview of the week, click here.) |
